The manager of the SJFM will work closely with the Board of Directors of the St. John’s Farmers Market Cooperative and will be responsible for the week-to-week operations of the market.
The successful candidate should have good time management and organizational skills, excellent conflict management skills, strong leadership skills, and an interest for farmers’ markets as a direct marketing channel. Previous marketing experience and/or previous experience managing a farmers’ market, as well as experience working with a volunteer board would be a definite asset.
Physical requirements include being able to set up and move tables or tents as needed. Must be able to spend long periods standing or walking (Market lasts 5 hours each Saturday)
Period of employment: Mid May to end of November/mid December (exact end date to be finalized)
Hours of employment: 25 hours per week
Rate of pay: $15/hour
