Aug 21 Market Update

(Review)

Last weekend at the market was one of our busiest and most eventful markets yet – Lauren Smyth, and Chris Harnett busking, storytime provided by the readers of the Marjorie Mews Library, a demonstration by Tai Chi NL, a juggling show put on by Zack Hunt, demonstrations by the Green Team of NL co-hosted by FEASt NL, as well as our usual array of vendors! It was a fabulous sunny day full of events.

(Preview)

This week, we have some equally special events, and a lovely lineup of ladies! Laurabeth Power returns to host Kids’ Yoga at 10 AM, and busking this week will be Kelly Warren, Judy Cantwell, Allison Mooney, and Karen Hawkin. We don’t have a FEASt workshop this week, but we are looking forward to Costa Kasimos next week, and Dan Ficken on September 11th. Costa will be talking about square foot and container gardening, and Dan will be chatting about bee boxes in anticipation of next season!

(How to get involved)

If you’d like to help out at the market as the fall begins and all of our super student volunteers go back to the classrooms, drop us a line at saskeah@gmail.com. We can always use more helping hands at the market!

(Spoons!)

Have a few extra teaspoons kicking around your china cabinets, cabins, or kitchens? We are in DESPERATE NEED in the SJFM coffee shop! EVERY SPOON HELPS!! Drop by the shop to drop off your spoons and give them a new life at the SJFM!

(Survey)

Want to help out the market, but don’t have time to volunteer every week? This week we’re looking for 25 customers to fill out a short survey during their visit at the market. If you are interested in filling out the survey, please notify one of the volunteers at the coffee shop – it will only take a moment of your time!
