Limited Parking this weekend

The annual Targa (road racing) event will be happening at the ReMax Centre this weekend. As such there will be no parking available to market goers in the ReMax Centre lot this Saturday, September 8.

Also because of the popularity of the Targa event parking in the general vicinity of the Lion’s Club and ReMax Centre will be very limited this weekend. The parking available at the Lion’s Club will be restricted to market vendors and those with accessible parking permits.

We are encouraging market goers to use sustainable modes of transportation this weekend where possible. If you can walk, ride bike or take the bus to the market we are strongly encouraging you to do so. Bus route #15 travels down Bonaventure Avenue and there is a stop not far from the Lion’s Park entrance. Bus route #15 travels from Quidi Vidi Lake to the MUN Student Centre and the Avalon Mall.

If you can only drive to the market we encourage you to carpool where possible. It is also strongly suggested that you park somewhere in the neighbourhood and walk to the market. Greenbelt Tennis Court, on Newtown Road, has given us permission to use their limited parking space which is a short trail walk to the market. There is also limited parking at Brother Rice School and a little more parking at Holy Heart School further up Bonaventure Avenue.

Parking on the residential streets in the neighbourhood is also allowed in most areas, just be sure that you are not in a no parking zone and that you do not block residential traffic.

We apologize for the inconvenience and hope you can still come visit our fabulous market this weekend.
