Reusable shopping bags have become more prevalent in the consumer landscape the past few years. You might even be in the habit of bringing them when you buy your milk and coffee beans at the grocery store, as they are commonly sold there.
We’d love you to get into the habit of bringing them to the farmers’ market to help us and our vendors reduce the amount of waste they produce.
We know you have reusable shopping bags, probably some in your car, perhaps others in your backpack or in your front porch closet. Remember to bring them along when you are heading out to the market on Saturdays.
The marketing committee of the St. John’s Farmers’ Market is looking into the economic feasibility of having reusable bags with the SJFM logo to sell to customers. If we can purchase & brand them and sell them to customers for a reasonable amount ($10 or less?) we will do that.
In the meantime, we know most people have those handy reusable totes around so why not get into the habit of bringing them to the market with you.
