The St. John’s Farmers’ Market had a great turnout for the first market of the season, breaking last year’s record attendance of 2000 customers by over 200. The market Market is open again this Saturday, June 14th from 9AM to 2PM, at the Lions Club Chalet off Bonaventure and Mayor Avenues.
Market Manager Danilo González was pleased to have such a successful start to the 7th season. “We had more than 2200 customers last Saturday…even the heavy rain during the morning wasn’t enough to stop the positive energy and commitment from the community! It is inspiring how the people of the St. John’s area are getting more involved with the Market as customers, volunteers and new vendors.”
The St. John’s Farmers’ Market would also like to give a big thank you The Artisans Market (formerly known as The Winter Market) and its customers for its a very generous donation of $2000. Admission to the monthly Artisans Market is by donation and money collected during their winter events was in support of our Market. We now have a new tent for outside vendors, and will be able to purchase other new supplies thanks to their community spirit!
In addition to the great produce, prepared foods, and arts and crafts, and produce that will be available on this Saturday, you can look forward to musical performances by Geoff Panting and Perry Muise and these outdoor group activities:
