Lots to See and Do at the St. John’s Farmers’ Market this Saturday, June 21st!

This Saturday, June 21st, come to the St. John’s Farmers’ Market between 9:00AM and 2:00PM for a day of fun! In addition to the great produce, prepared foods, and arts and crafts you’ve come to expect, this week and throughout the summer the Market will be host to a wide range of activities for the whole family.

For the first time this season, we’ll have a performance by Mark the Magician. From Mark’s bio: Mark’s show is best described as cheesy, but surprising, magic with a comedic twist…  “No need to take it too seriously” is his motto!” Mark will be performing at 12:00PM.

There will also be musical performances by Geoff Panting and Perry Muise, and outdoor group activities:

  • 11:00AM to 12:00PM: Salsa Lessons with Salsa In St. John’s. By donation.
  • 11:00AM to 1:00PM: Drumming Circle with Alive Adventures. $7/person, $13/family, or by donation.  Instruments will be provided or participants may supply their own.
  • 12:00PM to 1:00PM: Hula Hoop with FarOut Fitness. By donation.
  • 1:00PM to 2:00PM: Yoga Lessons with Nova Yoga Studio. $10/person.

Please note that all activities other than the Drumming Circle are weather dependent.

As part of their Summer Solstice event, the Community Garden Alliance will be at the Market from 9:00AM to 12:30PM selling tickets on a great prize basket and showing off the Southside Goats. At 12:30PM they’ll lead a procession from the Market to the Rabbittown Community Garden to start the celebration.  See their Facebook page and visit communitygardensnl.ca for more details.

Please remember to bring your reusable shopping bags, and cash as there isn’t an ATM on site. The Victoria Park Lantern Festival will also be collecting wide mouth glass jars at the Market, so if you have any you aren’t using, please bring them along. Parking is limited.
